My journey with Funeral Guru didn’t start with a business plan.

It began during my five years working as a paramedic, where I saw firsthand how families were thrown into a world of grief, confusion, and overwhelming stress the moment a loved one passed. Many didn’t know what to do or where to begin.

I understood that feeling deeply, the sense of being lost while silently worrying about costs. Over the years, I also heard countless stories from families about hidden charges and unexpected add-ons.

I, too, was terrified of being overcharged by a funeral service provider. I was scared of “hidden fees.” I had no idea what the first step was, who to call, or how to know if I was choosing the “right” package. I felt completely overwhelmed, and all I wanted was for someone to give me a simple, honest answer.

I kept asking myself, “Why is this so difficult? Why is everything so opaque?”

These experiences made me realise how important it is for families to have someone transparent, compassionate and reliable to guide them through one of the hardest moments of their lives. Funeral Guru was created to provide exactly that: honest pricing, clear processes and genuine support.

Funeral Guru is my answer to those questions. I founded it because I believe my generation, and everyone else, deserves better. We are used to transparency and simplicity in every other part of our lives, and we should demand it most when we are at our most vulnerable.
